Support Us please, if you can

Like so many charities, The Sand House Charity has seen its income plummet since the COVID-19 pandemic began. Our overheads are very modest and our smaller outgoings are often paid by one or other of our trustees, to avoid burdening the charity. Even so, our unavoidable costs (e.g. insurance) amount to several hundred pounds each year.

A regular donation of just a few pounds each month will make a huge difference to The Sand House Charity. Even just £3 per month is a significant sum for us. If you like what we do and if you think our work is worthwhile, perhaps you would consider making a regular donation, please? To do so, click on the <Donate> button below and select “Make this a monthly donation”. We would be immensely grateful. Thank you.

Background

Since its formation in 2017, The Sand House Charity has achieved a great deal. It has staged a major exhibition; produced a brand-new, sell-out play; presented in-person and online talks for adults and children; led guided walks; run pop-up sand art sessions: and prepared a comprehensive display for Doncaster’s Danum Gallery, Library and Museum. These are in addition to regularly sharing educational material about the Sand House on social media and continuing the ongoing process of researching the Victorian marvel that inspired the charity. All this has been managed by a group of unpaid volunteers, covering the charity’s overheads from money donated at talks, walks and other events. Such events have been severely restricted since the pandemic. Your support would be invaluable.
