Sand House Picture Poem Cards
In 2019, celebrated Mexborough poet, Ian Parks, led a poetry workshop themed on the Sand House. The participants each wrote a poem, inspired by one of ten historic images of the Victorian marvel. Each poem has been printed on to high quality card, on the reverse of the photograph that inspired it, The picture poem cards are available at 50p each, or £4.00 for the set of ten. Book: ‘The Sand House – A Victorian Marvel Revisited’
The definitive story of the Sand House is told by Richard Bell and Peter Tuffrey in their book ‘The Sand House – A Victorian Marvel Revisited’, published by Amberley Publishing in 2010. (The first edition book was published by Bond Publications in 1988 and went out of print in the early 1990s).

‘Elephant & Mahout’ key-ring
The Elephant and Mahout is the iconic image of the Sand House. The original sandstone sculpture of that name stood 2.6 metres tall, in one of the Sand House’s linked tunnels. This resin-cast key-ring fob is an excellent representation of the sculpture, but measures just 25mm long (85mm with chain and ring).

‘The Sand House’ CD
This CD contains two songs written by Doncaster-based singer/songwriter, Mick Jenkinson and his writing partner, poet Ian Parks. Recorded during September and October 2018, the CD is now available to purchase. You can hear clips of each song if you click on the video buttons below.

Elephant and Mahout Figurines
These resin-cast figurines stand approximately 11cm tall, weigh 1.4kg and are based on the iconic Elephant and Mahout sandstone carving which stood within the Sand House’s Cloisters tunnel. They have been specially manufactured for the Sand House by Unity Gifts of Wakefield.
The figurines are available in either a sand-effect finish or a dark bronze-effect finish. Each piece is numbered and boxed and comes with a certificate signed by Richard Bell, descendant of Henry Senior and Chair of Trustees of The Sand House Charity.
The last few figurines from a limited edition of 34 are now available at £20.00 each, including UK postage and packing. They may be bought using the button below.
Two Sand House postcards are available. One of them features a photograph of the Elephant and Mahout sculpture. The other shows the façade of the Sand House itself, viewed from Green Dyke Lane. Both photos date from c.1912.
